Beginning Longarm Quilting
This class will be a combination of lecture and hands-on freehand quilting on a Gammill longarm quilting machine.
This class is an introduction to the basics of freehand longarm quilting.
Topics include:
Overview of the frame, rollers and leaders.
Machine head, needles and bobbins.
Table and rails.
Preparing the quilt top for quilting.
Choosing thread and quilting design(s.)
Hands on portion:
Loading backing, batting and a quilt top.
Practice freehand quilting designs.
Saturday, April 22
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (30-minute lunch – on your own.)
Cost: $75
Supply fee: $10 payable to instructor, cash only, at class
Limited to 3 participants per class.
Difficulty Level - ( I have not sewn much, if at all. )
CLASS AND CANCELLATION POLICES:
Classes must be paid for in full at time of sign up. If you cancel more than 3 days prior to class, a refund or class transfer will be given ( your choice). If you cancel less than 3 days prior to class you may transfer to another class. If MQM cancels the class, you will get a refund or class transfer- your choice. Please bring all class supplies, and have any "homework" completed prior to coming to class. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Classes will take place in the classroom of the Missouri Quilt Museum. Please enter through the NORTH DOOR located at 300 EAST Bird, Hamilton Missouri 64644. Classroom doors will open 20 minutes prior to class start time.
