Learn to align stripes in fabric to create fantastic table runners.
Supplies:
1-1/2 yards of striped fabric (this makes 2 runners)
1--1/2 yards of fabric fro backing ( will back both runners)
1 twin size batting
60 Degree 12-1/2" Creative Grid Ruler ( I will have a few to share- but trust me you are going to want to get your own :)
Walking foot- if you are bringing your own machine
Thread to match fabric for top to quilt top
Class Difficulty: - (I have pieced a few projects and am comfortable sewing with a 1/4" seam)
Supplies:
1 package of (4) 2-1/2 strips
Border- 1-1/2 yards
Binding- 3/4 yard
GENERAL SEWING SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Sewing machine in good working order
1/4" foot for your machine- if you have one
Rotary mat and rotary cutter
6" x 24" quilting ruler
Straight pins
Scissors
Thread- we prefer you use a 50wt cotton thread
Pen and pencil
Paper to take notes
Instruction for this beginner course provided by Courtenay Hughes. She will focus on the following fundamentals:
Straight Cutting
Benefits of pressing
Straight stitch sewing
Accurate 1/4" seam allowance
Aligning multiple seams and points.
Classes will take place in the classroom of the Missouri Quilt Museum. Please enter through the NORTH DOOR located at 300 EAST Bird, Hamilton Missouri 64644. Classroom doors will open 20 minutes prior to class start time.
CLASS AND CANCELLATION POLICES:
Classes must be paid for in full at time of sign up. If you cancel more than 3 days prior to class, a refund or class transfer will be given ( your choice). If you cancel less than 3 days prior to class you may transfer to another class. If MQM cancels the class, you will get a refund or class transfer- your choice. Please bring all class supplies, and have any "homework" completed prior to coming to class. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
