Aurifilosophy – It’s All About the Thread – 2.5 Hours – $25
In this lecture Karen shares her Aurifil-centric trunk of quilts while giving a structured, in-depth presentation about cotton thread including information on weights, ply, process, spool positioning, needle recommendations, tension settings and more. Karen offers helpful thread tips & tricks while addressing projects and photos designed to inspire and expand your knowledge of cotton threads.
Each lecture is executed via LIVE FEED from Karen’s Keuka Lake location in Upstate, NY. The hosting organization, the Missouri Quilt Museum, will moderate and assist with the event as necessary.
This 2.5 hour ZOOM lecture is being offered by Karen in the final push to complete install of an elevator at the Missouri Quilt Museum. All monies raised with go directly to the MQM, a non profit (501)(c)(3).
MEET YOUR EDUCATOR: Karen Miller, of Redbird Quilt Co. is a Master Educator and Aurifilosopher for Aurifil, USA. Karen learned to quilt in her late 40’s and quickly discovered that creative design, applique, and free motion quilting (FMQ) on a home machine made her heart sing. She joined the quilting industry by writing and publishing inspirational and comprehensive tutorials for her blog, Moda Bake Shop, and other large online shops. Karen is recognized for her Redbird & Berries Mini Quilt (Jan, 2014) which ranks high among online patterns. Karen founded Redbird Quilt Co. in 2014 and took to the road, and now ZOOM, to share her passion with others. Accomplished quilter, blogger, author, educator, Moda Bake Shop Chef, Aurifilosopher, Thread Designer, Master Educator for Aurifil, and promoter of all things “Quilty” - - Join Karen and gain inspiration and knowledge to use along your quilt-making pathway.
