Airing of The Quilts
For years the tradition of airing out your quilts happens to ring in the warm weather. The beautiful displays would be shown on porches for all to see. As years went by this tradition is not very widely seen among towns and cities. However, Hamilton Missouri continues this beautiful tradition. The History of Feed Sacks
I don't believe recycling is exactly what the women in the 1900s were thinking about when they began using feed sacks to help clothe their families, but living during the WWI and then having the Great Depression begin not too long after brought about a need to find new ways to provide for the family.
