Tuesday, Sept 29th - 6:30pm EST

Aurifilosophy – It’s All About the Thread – 2 Hours – $25


During the first lecture of the series Karen shares her Aurifil-centric trunk of quilts while giving a structured, in-depth presentation about cotton thread including information on weights, ply, process, spool positioning, needle recommendations, tension settings and more. Karen offers helpful thread tips & tricks while addressing projects and photos designed to inspire and expand your knowledge of cotton threads. Each attendee (US only) will receive a small spool of Aurifil thread and product brochure. Additionally, enrollees receive a PDF file outlining Karen’s favorite ways to use all those luscious weights of Aurifil thread.




Tuesday October 6th - 6:30pm EST

Aligning YOUR Free Motion Quilting Stars – 90 minutes – $20


In this 90 minute lecture & trunk show Karen shares her favorite tips, tools and notions to help you Align YOUR Free Motion Quilting Stars. The discussion is focused on free motion quilting on home sewing machines but is also applicable to sit down machines. Karen shares quilting details of several of her “favorite” quilts. Attendees receive a PDF file summarizing the lessons of the lecture.




Tuesday October 13th - 6:30pm EST

Panels ~ Panels ~ Panels – 60 minutes – $15


Panels are the perfect way to improve your free motion quilting skills. In this 1 hour lecture Karen shares her approach to preparing and quilting panels. Get up-close with Zoey the Giraffe by World of Susybee and learn how to approach and tackle quilting a panel. Thread, batting and designs will be discussed. Attendees receive a PDF file outlining Karen’s favorite Panel Quilting tips.





Tuesday October 20th - 6:30pm EST

The Bicycle Quilt – 60 minutes – $15


You KNOW the quilt!! Beautifully prepared by Karen’s sister Janet and home machine quilted using a variety of weights of Aurifil thread. Karen shares details about thread, batting, and quilting design choices and a bit about the techniques used to complete this wonderfully detailed applique quilt. Attendees receive a PDF file sharing the quilting path of one of Karen’s favorites - the curled feather.



Tuesday October 27th - 6:30pm EST

FMQ on a Featherweight – 90 minutes – $20


That’s right! The vintage workhorse you’ve been using for piecing can also be used for a bit of Free Motion Quilting. Don’t let that 5” throat space deter you. Karen shares a few things she’s learned about FMQing on her Featherweight. She’ll chat about feed dogs, needles, spool positioning, tension, and setup for the Featherweight. Finally, she’ll introduce “He Who Has Yet to be Named” and give a quick free motion quilting demo. Attendees receive a PDF file summarizing her Featherweight FMQ lessons learned.

Each lecture is executed via LIVE FEED from Karen’s Keuka Lake location in Upstate, NY The hosting organization, Hotel Hamilton & Event Center,

will moderate and assist with the event as necessary.


Enrollees will receive notices, necessary links and helpful information about ZOOM via email. Look for this information appx 5 days prior to the event. Be sure to check your JUNK and SPAM folder for this information -- it’s required to get you connected.


Lectures will not be available for replay and there will be no refunds.
